Building
When is a building
permit required

When renovating an apartment or a family house, a building permit is usually required if the construction alterations involve structural walls, changes to the property's use, or modifications to the appearance and volume of the building.
In most cases, a building permit is required for construction, with exceptions where a Construction Notification is sufficient. According to the law, a permit is required for all constructions that are not explicitly exempted from needing a building permit. Therefore, these are constructions for which a Construction Notification is not enough.

What is required to submit a building permit application
The building permit application consists of the request for a building permit and the documentation.
The building permit request must include the builder's and property's identification details, basic information about the construction plan, its scope, purpose, method, and duration. It should also include information about the construction's executor and the consent of neighboring property owners if the construction will affect their land.
The documentation must include essentials such as an extract from the land registry with information about the property owner, project documentation, opinions from relevant authorities (public transportation, technical infrastructure, water management, etc.), and zoning decisions if necessary.
The official deadline for processing a building permit is 60 days. However, based on our experience, it is advisable to allow for a minimum of 6 months. We would be glad to guide you through the bureaucratic maze and handle the necessary permits on your behalf. We have extensive experience in obtaining building permits.
